  • As Senior Production Geologist you could soon be working for one of Australia`s largest Mining Houses with interests in Base Metals, Gold as well as Oil and Gas. With considerable reserves and significant cash flows, the company is well placed to grow through investment and exploration activities.

    A degree in the Earth Sciences and 6- 10 years experience, with a solid exploration background, and the ability to lead and develop a team of geologists is required.

    As a good decision maker, you can assess problems quickly and accurately and are able to formulate comprehensive action plans. A strong working knowledge of Vulcan/Surpac  or similar 3D software is essential.

    Reporting to the Geology Manager, the Senior Production Geologist's responsibilities will include managing activities necessary to optimise ore extraction.

    *Promotion of site safety policies
    *Underground Grade Control
    *Underground face mapping and sampling
    *Liaison with the underground mining workforce
    *Supervision of underground diamond drilling
    *Liaison with other departments as required
    *Diamond drill core logging
    *Be proactive in environmental and continuous improvement activities.
